Arduino Coding and Skills Training
Unlock Your Child’s Potential in the Age of AI
Brought to you by the team who developed Explora Travel.
Empower your child’s future successes with digital literacy and coding skills. We have first hand experience in the digital realsm where we are very well aware as to the importance of ensuring the next generation is able to grasp and understand digital literacy. It’s for this reason we have established a digital literacy training class which is aimed to help kids reach their full potential in this realm.
Dear Parents,
Welcome to an exciting era of technological advancement, where digital literacy and coding skills have become essential for your child’s future success. We understand the importance of nurturing their potential and equipping them with the tools they need to thrive in this AI-driven world.
Our interactive Arduino coding workshops offer a unique opportunity for children between the ages of 12 and 18 to dive into the world of coding and AI concepts. Through these engaging workshops, your child will gain valuable coding skills and enhance their math, science, and cognitive abilities.
They’ll develop problem-solving skills, logical thinking, and creativity while exploring the power of AI.
Whether your child is a beginner or has prior coding experience, our workshops cater to all skill levels. Our experienced instructors will guide them through hands-on activities and projects using Arduino, a popular platform known for its versatility and simplicity. No prior experience is required—just a passion for learning and a curiosity to explore the world of AI.

Why Choose Our Arduino Coding Workshops?
- Interactive and engaging learning environment
- Experienced instructors with vast experience in coding and AI
- Suitable for beginners and those with prior coding experience
- Hands-on projects using Arduino to reinforce learning
- Improved math, science, and cognitive skills
- Nurturing creativity, problem-solving, and logical thinking
1. Introduction lessons
Before committing to purchase your child an Arduino Kit, we recommend that your child attends the introduction lesson where they will be shown the basics and the potential of Arduino Micro-controllers.
What is covered:
- Basic reading and writing of C++ language: Once the logic understanding is discovered, this improves mathematical and problem-solving skills. This will also unlock the ability to learn a multitude of other software languages.
- Reading and understanding Schematics: Gaining the ability to read simple technical drawings which covers basic electrical to help with understanding science.
- Basic electronic knowledge: Learning to identify components such as LED’s, servo motors, thermometers, resistors, transistors and micro-chips.
Projects that will be built:
- A small traffic light
- Simple alarm system
- Blinds opener and closer
- Thermometer display
Estimated duration: 4 to 6 weeks
This section will teach your child the basics of how to read and write software, assemble electronic components and to put use to these projects in real life practice, such as xxxxxxx This can take between 4 to 6 weeks of attending the beginner’s lessons, from there they can move to the 2pm class which is more involved.
2. Intermediate lessons
Once your child has completed the introduction lessons and discovered the world of coding and electronics they will be able to build more complex software.
What is covered:
- Logic gate switching: This is the fundamental part of cognition development which can be applied to software.
- Complex software lessons: Covering timers, switching modes, logic flow
- Complex xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Projects that will be built:
- Garden irrigation controller with water sensor, timer control and weather monitoring.
- Proximity sensors (Similar to a reverse sensor found on motor cars)
- Infrared / RF remote controls for Robotics, RC cars or TV remotes
- Simple home automation such as lighting controllers, security sensors and locking systems
Advanced lessons
Your child will be required to pick a project to build, 3D printers, 3-Axis robot
After completing the Advanced lessons, your child will be able to develop an unlimited number of projects from simple robotics, 3D printers, complex alarm systems, all the way down to generator automation – The sky is the limit.
This class is where students are welcome to sit in and continue with their projects and can get advice or assistance from the instructors. At this stage they will be programming very intricate software projects.
During these lessons, the student is left to develop the project of choice and will have full access to the instructor for assistance and guidance.
When:
The lessons are held every Saturday
Times:
9am to 12pm (Beginners)
Time: 2pm to 5pm (Intermediate and Advanced)
Price:
R 420 per Saturday
Where:
The training is held at the Sylviavale Heritage Village in Vanderbijlpark (See Map).
Parents are more than welcome to sit-in during the lessons, or can take a break and enjoy a well deserved cup of coffee or lunch at the Urban Vines restaurant (See More)
