Brought to you by the team who developed Explora Travel App and PepperPot ONLINE.

With the latest advances in AI technology, and as coders, we are very well aware of the absolute necessity digital literacy has become. Through our experience in AI implementation and coding, we have adopted a series of workshops to teach, train and develop minds to open their future potential and possibilities by learning how to read, write and implement source code.

To do this, we have incorporated a wonderful micro-processor called Arduino, which requires software knowledge, which is then channelled to perform real-life functionality, such as turning on lights, moving motors, switching devices, and many more applications. The reason for this is so that our students can put into practice what they learn in software into “real life” and can physically see their achievements.

Why Choose Our Arduino Coding Workshops?

  • An interactive and engaging learning environment
  • Train with the lead developer of Explora Travel and PepperPot Online with vast experience in coding and AI
  • Hands-on projects using Arduino to reinforce learning
  • Improved math, science, problem-solving and cognitive skills
  • Nurturing creativity, problem-solving, and logical thinking

Introduction lessons

Before committing to purchasing an Arduino Kit, we recommend that students attend at least 1 to 2 lessons where they will be shown the basics and the potential of Arduino Micro-controllers.

What is covered:

  1. Reading and writing of C++ language: Once the logic understanding is discovered, this improves mathematical and problem-solving skills.
  2. Reading and understanding Schematics: Gaining the ability to read simple technical drawings covering basic electrical to help understand science.
  3. Basic electronic knowledge: Learning to identify components such as LED’s, servo motors, thermometers, resistors, transistors and microchips.
  4. The Mindset of Coding: How to understand logic development to read and understand code.
  5. Creativity: How to turn an idea into software and learn to program Arduino.
  6. Programming Fundamentals: Loops, conditionals, variables, functions, and parameters

Examples of projects that will be built:

  1. A small traffic light
  2. Simple alarm system
  3. Blinds opener and closer
  4. Thermometer display
  5. Gate opener and closer
  6. Irrigation controllers

Estimated duration: 4 to 6 weeks

This module teaches students the basics of how to read and write software, assemble electronic components and to put use to these projects in real-life practice. This can take between 4 to 6 weeks of attending the beginner’s lessons, from there they can move to the 2 pm class (class 2) which is more involved.

Intermediate and Advanced Classes

Once our student has completed the introduction lessons and discovered the world of coding and electronics they will be able to build more complex software.

What is covered:

  1. Logic gate switching: This is the fundamental part of cognition development which can be applied to software.
  2. Complex software lessons: Covering timers, switching modes, and logic flow.
  3. Build complex circuits: Gate motor controllers, day/night sensors, proximity detection and even small garden irrigation controllers.

Projects that will be built:

  1. IoT (Internet of Things), to integrate software with the web.
  2. Bluetooth, Infrared and RF controlling.
  3. HMTL, Javascript and PHP software integration.

Students will be required to pick a project of their choice to build such as a 3-Axis robot, alarm system, IoT controller or even development plans for 3D Printers.

During this class, students are welcome to join the workshops and continue on their own to complete projects. They will get immediate advice or assistance from the instructors as well as advice to improve and implement their software ideas. At this stage, they will be programming very intricate software projects.

Students can then have the choice to continue training to incorporate other software applications such as PHP, Python, SQL, HTML, Javascript and jQuery, which opens their world to all the major software languages, which are all globally recognised.
