Frost Chill Cooling

Heating Sensor
Located in the evaporator unit.
This could fail from time to time and prevent the defrost heaters from operating.
This sensor helps to prevent excessive and unnecessary heating during the defrost cycle. If the evaporator is heated too much, especially if the ice has melted but the unit is still in defrost mode, it will cause inefficiency to cool down the evaporator again. It can also cause heat in the room, thus increasing the humidity which can compromise product quality and also promote ice-build on the evaporator.
Possible Solution
Locate the defrost thermostat which is attached to the evaporator coils.
Disconnect the two wires and test it with your multimeter. If the evaporator is at room temperature, you should get a reading. If there is no reading this indicates that the sensor is faulty and will need to be replaced as it’s not turning on the defrost heaters.
