Condenser fan

Operation of the fans

The condenser fan needs to run at the same time as the compressor in order to promote circulation cooling. If the compressor is running but the fan is not operating, there may be a fault with the wiring or the actual fan motor.

PLEASE NOTE!

On some cold room units, there may be two condenser fans. If you see one fan not working, this may be because it may be on a differential pressure switch which means that it will only operate when the pressure switches are activated.

Noises and humming

Whining, clunking or knocking noises coming from the fan could be caused by damaged bearings. The fan will eventually fail and should be replaced when possible.
