When replacing a compressor, repairing a leak or adding more refrigerant to the ice machine, follow this video on how to know when you have enough refrigeration charge.

Note: Before adding any refrigerant, always service the unit to ensure that all the components are clean in order to ensure correct operation first!

Draw the waffle and when to stop the charge.

Disconnect the water pipe from the flow and place the pipe in the tray. You do not want flow just yet.

When the freeze points are out passed the evaporator, turn off the machine, and reconnect the water pipe.

Turn on the machine, and notice where the freeze points are. The evaporator will start icing up. The correct amount will be indicated when the ice on the evaporator moves towards the compressor.
